She's been with numerous top media organizations worldwide. She spent almost a decade covering the sport for The Washington Post, including tennis, football, and basketball. Nichols was a reporter for nine years during her time with ESPN where she was awarded two Emmy Awards, and featured on many of ESPN's top programs like NFL Countdown and SportsCenter. Nichols was also a one of the networks' Monday Night Football broadcasts as reporter on the sidelines. Following her departure from ESPN, her next station was CNN and Turner Sports. Nichols reported on NBA television broadcasts for TNT which included the regular season, playoffs as well as All-Star broadcasts. Nichols also covered golf, baseball as well as Final Four broadcasts for CBS and TBS. Only a woman has been picked from over 200 nominees over the 42-year old history of the honor.
